    Meet Kesi

Kesi was just 3 months old when she was handed in to Nyaru Menteng, she was underweight, very fragile and one of her hands had been chopped off. Rescuers think that Kesi's mother had been desperately searching for food in a palm oil plantation when she encountered the humans that killed her. Kesi, who would have been clinging on tight to her mother, was injured during the attack. Kesi has shown remarkable resilience, determination and adaptability and now rehabilitated, she lives on a pre-release island and her missing hand hasn't stopped her from becoming a confident, independent individual living life to the full.
